By using this site and adding content you are agreeing that:
- You are the owner of the content or have permission from the owner to upload their content to the site:
- Such content may be used in support of the work of the Northamptonshire Biodiversity Records Centre and shared with others by NBRC for the purposes of informing nature conservation, planning and scientific research
- If someone other than yourself identified a specimen you will ensure they are credited
- Data collected through the site will be stored securely on servers managed by the Biological Records Centre
- Data collected on the site will appear in the iRecord data pool and may be verified by experts on iRecord. For your account on our recording pages to link up with your iRecord account (if you already have one) you need to register using the same email address (this will enable synchronisation)
- NBRC uploads a proportion of its data to the NBN Atlas licenced as Creative Commons, with Attribution, Non-commercial (CC-BY-NC) for use by others. By using this site you are agreeing that your data may be passed on to the NBN Atlas. Once verified records have been made available to the NBN, their use will be governed by the NBN Terms of use and Privacy policy, e.g. use of the data for commercial purposes will not be allowed without written permission from the organisation administering the dataset
- Please aim to avoid duplication by not submitting records here that you (or others) have submitted elsewhere (unless you think these will not get passed on to NBRC by another route)
- You can view wildlife records submitted to this website by other users, but you may not store them, republish them, exploit them for commercial or academic research purposes, or pass them on to any third party
- Please be aware that you name will be visible to other users alongside your record on the ‘All records’ page. If you already have an account and don’t want your name to be displayed, please do contact us and request your account to be cancelled
- Your contact details (email) will be held in a secure database at the Biological Records Centre and by the NBRC and will only be used to contact you if there is a query about the verification of your wildlife observations
- Your contact details will not be passed on to any third parties without your permission however, your name may be submitted to vice county recorders for species verification purposes
- Your name (and/or the name of the identifier) will be stored as part of the record permanently and will be shared with others only for the purposes of record verification.
- To record sensitive species, please make use of the ability to blur records to a given resolution within the record submission forms
- Please avoid submitting records unless you are certain of the identification. If you do submit records with photos and you are uncertain about the identification of the species, please indicate this using the drop down menu on the record submission forms
- If you have large amounts of records to submit already stored in a digital format, please submit them directly to NBRC via email using nbrc@northantsbrc.org.uk
